Top award for Devonshire Red makes truckle a must-have centrepiece for the Christmas feast

Handcrafted at Home Farm’s dairy, using milk from Mary Quicke’s specially bred, grass fed cows, Devonshire Red is clothbound and naturally matured in the farm’s ‘Cathedral of Cheese’ for 3-6 months. Guided to maturity by the cheesemaker’s expert graders, all the while benefitting from the unique microflora that lives within the cheese stores, the end result is a true expression of the land, the seasons and the heritage of this idyllic corner of Devon.

Described by the Great Taste judges as “a lovely warm coloured cheese with delicate hay notes and great malt highlights”, the cheese was found to be “creamy and tangy in equal measure”. A “very moreish” cheese with a “pleasant acidity”, “perfect moisture level” and “farmyard notes off the cloth rind”, Devonshire Red is ready to bring a truckle load of Christmas cheer to any festive cheeseboard.

The 1.8kg Devonshire Red Truckle is priced at £32, with wedges of Devonshire Red Clothbound Cheese priced at £3.95 for 200g, £8.90 for 500g and £24 for 1.5kg.
