Pioneering new cabins from Plankbridge make a hut a home

Cabins

Dorset-based master hutmaker, Plankbridge, has stylish and comfortable self-contained living wrapped up with its new range of bespoke Plankbridge Cabins. Inspired by Victorian structures and the growing demand for its traditionally crafted shepherd’s huts, this new larger portable space offers the perfect solution for homeowners wanting to create an annex, guest suite or bolthole for family and friends.

Sitting on four wheels, which are set beneath the structure, the Plankbridge Cabin allows for a fully bespoke design and those wider than 2.55 metres or longer than 7.5 metres can benefit from lower rates of VAT. Clad in timber or Plankbridge’s signature corrugated iron, which harks back to the prefabricated buildings shipped to India and Australia by the Victorians, and with space for a double bedroom, en-suite shower room, living area and kitchen inside, the Plankbridge Cabin is crafted with year-round living in mind.

Bespoke cabin designs are priced upon enquiry and those wider than 2.55 metres or longer than 7.5 metres and intended for year round use, with a bathroom, bedroom and kitchen, are subject to 5% VAT. Plankbridge Cabins may require planning permission, it is advisable to check with the local planning authorities.
