Dartmoor Whisky releases the Discovery Set, a gift to sip, study and savour

Capturing a moment in place and time, the new Discovery Set from Dartmoor Whisky is a remarkable gift for any fan of single malt, showcasing the full set of original expressions from the South West’s first ever whisky distillery. Taking the palate on a journey over the moors, through the still and around the casks, this unique collection marks the very beginning of West Country whisky.

The Dartmoor Whisky Discovery Set contains three miniature bottles, including the Ex-Bourbon Cask Single Malt Whisky, the Ex-Bordeaux Cask Single Malt Whisky and the Ex-Oloroso Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky, as well as tasting notes for each expression. Offering an insight into the distillation process and the diverse flavour profiles that are imparted by each cask, this lovingly presented gift set tells the tale of a whisky firmly rooted in the windswept moors that give it its name.

Sat at the gateway to Dartmoor, within Bovey Tracey’s former Town Hall, Dartmoor Whisky Distillery sources all of its ingredients from the wild open moorlands on its doorstep. The barley is grown and harvested at Preston Farm on Dartmoor and the matured whisky is cut with pure Dartmoor Spring Water, filtered through granite for 200 years before it reaches the water table below ground.

Combining the best of Devon with centuries of whisky making tradition, founders Greg Millar and Simon Crow have worked closely with Master Distiller, Frank McHardy, to create the recipes and install a fine copper still that will do justice to what the land has provided.
