Quicke’s announces free delivery for NHS staff and all those in self-isolation

Devon-based Clothbound Cheddar producer, Quicke’s is offering free delivery to NHS staff and all vulnerable groups affected by the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the UK, for an initial period of 12 weeks. Operating on a trust basis, relevant customers will be invited to use a special code on www.quickes.co.uk entitling them to free delivery on all orders above £25.

Open to any impacted individual, including those that fall into the at risk groups identified by the government, as well as anyone taking additional social distancing measures in order to support family and loved ones, this offer is intended to provide consumers with more cost-effective access to Britain’s favourite cheese at a time of unprecedented demand on the UK’s supply chains.

As supermarkets and national delivery services continue to come under pressure, Quicke’s hopes that initiatives from speciality food and drink businesses can help to address some of the immediate challenges facing consumers, while making it easier for them to support independent producers and retailers. Customers will be able to specify where parcels should be left in order to avoid any unessential contact, as they stock up on speciality food to treat themselves during this time of much reduced travel, entertainment and social activity.

With the local community in mind, the Quicke’s Cheese Box, based near Crediton, has teamed up with other businesses in the area to offer an ‘order and collect’ service from Monday 23 March, providing Quicke’s cheese and other staples including bread, milk, eggs, beer, cider and wine.
