Sip into summer with a South West 75

South West 75

Combining the finest local produce and punchy summer flavours in equal measure, Blackacre Farm Eggs’ new cocktail, the South West 75, is set to grace many an al fresco gathering during the long, warm evenings ahead. The latest of Blackacre’s seasonal Cracking Cocktails, developed with mixologist, Lloyd Brown, from the award-winning Venner Bar at The Bull Hotel in Dorset, the South West 75 is a very British take on a sparkling French classic.

Featuring Conker Spirit Dorset Dry Gin, Lyme Bay Brut Reserve Sparkling Wine and Blackacre’s own Great Taste award-winning Rambling Free hens’ eggs, the South West 75 is a refreshing and well-rounded tribute to summertime in the West Country.

Laid by hens that roam on a farm with love, care, freedom and fresh air at its heart, Blackacre’s eggs elevate this cocktail to new heights, providing a delicate aromatic froth and removing the high and low notes to leave a smooth and consistent flavour. Better still, as the egg binds to the alcohol, it helps the body to process it faster and reduces the risk of a hangover, meaning less bleary eyes hiding from the sunshine the next day!

South West 75
Ingredients
1 whole Rambling Free egg white
50ml Conker Spirit Dorset Dry Gin
25ml lemon juice
12.5ml sugar syrup (two parts sugar, one-part water)
Lyme Bay Brut Reserve Sparkling Wine
Ice

Let’s get shaking!

Pour the egg white, gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker, along with one ice cube.

Pop the lid on and shake really hard to create the froth, then add more ice and give it a final brief shake to chill.

Pour into a Champagne flute and top with sparkling wine. It will fizz over but don't worry, it’s all part of the fun!
