Proud owners of a Plankbridge shepherd’s hut will soon receive a brand new hand-crafted leather key fob, engraved with a distinctive corn dolly motif. Hand crafted by Dorset-based leatherworker, Ben Loder, the corn dolly key fob, which will be delivered with all new huts as well as being sent to existing Plankbridge hut owners across the UK and beyond, is a symbol of Plankbridge’s ethos, capturing the essence of traditional Victorian craftsmanship alongside the values of contemporary living.

Richard Lee, owner and founder of Dorset-based Plankbridge, explains:

“At the heart of all of our shepherd’s huts is their Victorian heritage, skilled craftsmen making a functional moveable building for shepherd’s to take shelter in during the lambing season. We wanted to find a symbol that would embody our core values and the corn dolly is the perfect match, with its woven straw believed to protect the spirit of the grain after harvest to ensure a good crop the following year.”

Whether it’s opening the door to a home office, holiday let or cherished hideaway, the corn dolly key fob will be a lasting reminder of the shepherd’s hut’s humble countryside roots.
